ACKERMAN Areola Markers, For vertical mammaplasty procedures.
Ackerman areola markers are tools used in plastic surgery to help with breast augmentation and other breast procedures. They are named after Dr. Ralph Ackerman, a plastic surgeon who developed the markers in the 1960s.
Ackerman areola markers consist of two circular templates that are placed on the breast to help the surgeon determine the correct size and position of the areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple). The templates have different sizes and shapes, and the surgeon can choose the one that best fits the patient’s natural areola.
During a breast augmentation procedure, the surgeon may use Ackerman areola markers to mark the position of the new, larger areola on the breast. This helps ensure that the areola is symmetrical and looks natural after the surgery. The markers may also be used in other breast procedures, such as breast lift or reduction, to help the surgeon determine the proper placement of the areola.
